Pupils of Royal Orchard First School, Enugu visits Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state

In the spirit of Christmas, selected pupils of Royal Orchard First School, Enugu, led by their Management and Staff, today visited Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi at the Government House, Enugu, to felicitate with him.

The pupils, who presented rich, colourful and memorable displays in commemoration of the festive season as well as appreciation of Gov. Ugwuanyi's good works in the state, were highly delighted at the hospitality and warm reception by the governor.

In her remark, the Director of the School, Mrs. Chioma Okoye, stated that they were overwhelmed by the rare honour and privilege accorded to them by the governor for the children to interact with him in such a relaxed atmosphere.

She said: "We can't express our happiness to be here. We didn't believe it will be possible. We are very privileged to be here. This occasion is purely for the kids".
Gov. Ugwuanyi in his speech thanked the School for giving him the opportunity to participate in her academic and Christmas activities through this visit.

The governor added that the children as the leaders of tomorrow, "certainly deserve the best education and positive exposure that we can offer them".
According to him, "Excursions and tours of this nature are undoubtedly, vital components of children's educational experience as they often help them to form their own visions and aspirations for a better society early in their lives.

"I am quite elated by the level of enthusiasm and excitement that I see on the faces of the children here and I am sure that this visit will inspire in them, the desire to grow up to become important and resourceful members of the society."
Maintaining that education is the bedrock of growth and sustainable development in any society, Gov. Ugwuanyi stressed that the provision of qualitative and functional education for citizens, is a cardinal and inescapable duty of any responsible government.

"This is why this administration is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to achieve significant and sustainable improvement in the quality of education, more importantly, at the primary level.
"We believe that with the support and cooperation of all stakeholders in the education sector, the measures that we are currently taking will help us achieve our targets in the sector.

"I thank you once again for coming and as we wish you Merry Christmas in advance, we pray that your school and indeed all schools in Enugu State, continue to grow from strength to strength for the benefit of the society", the People's Governor prayed.

Highlights of the presentations by the pupils were Christmas songs, Christmas gifts, cultural display and address to the governor.
Enugu State is truly in the hands of God!
